THE PORTUGUESE PRISON PHOTO PROJECT
Who ever saw a prison on the inside?
For most of us is just a ideia that we create when reading or watching films of these spaces.
the portuguese prison photo project crosses the different looks of two photographers about seven contemporary portuguese prisons. Luís Barbosa (SPA 2018, prize winner ) and Peter Schulthess lead us into a world that portrays portuguese prisons, from the oldest, created in 1880, to the most modern, opened in 2004.
Historical images, coming from national archives, complete the exhibition that will remain in the space of the temporary exhibitions room of the Aljube Museum until the end of September 2019.
