Luís António Firmino
(Lavre, 30.09.1917 ou 12.10.1917 — Caxias, 23.01.1968)
He was arrested in 1949, for inquiries, and taken to the Caxias Prisoners’ Depot. In September, on the 19th, he spent five days at the Aljube, returning to Caxias. In January 1950, he was placed at the disposal of the Courts, being tried in June and sentenced to 20 months in prison, 3 years of suspension of political rights and security measures. He proceeds to Peniche, where he remains until December 1951, when he leaves on parole, passing the definitive by order on October 1956. In 1967, he would be arrested again, for activities against the security of the State, going to Caxias. He suffers, however, a myocardial infarction, following the tortures inflicted on him, and in January 1968 he was admitted to the Hospital of S. João de Deus, where he died on 23 January. He was 51 years old.
