Theatre – “Amores na Clandestinidade” [Loves in Clandestinity] [Online]

16 to 21 of April of 2021
Redes Sociais

During the long period that lasted the portuguese dictatorship all resistance and opposition was persecuted, being a large part of the anti-fascist struggle made in the underground. This underground world that was created implied that people assumed other names, new identities, new professions and, often, marriages and love relationships that they never had. On the other hand, many of the couples who formed within this fight, married, had children, kept their families while facing torture and prison sentences, and often these loving and family relationships kept them alive and to their struggle and resistance.

This documentary play analyzes affective and family relationships through interviews with people who participated in the anti-fascist struggle in Portugal, as well as their children who grew up accompanying their parents and, often, in the absence of them.
