Amável Vitorino
Amável Vitorino, shoemaker in Mora, was delivered by the PSP Command of Évora to the PVDE on December 13, 1940 “for unpleasant comments to the current political situation of the country and its leaders”, being released on February 1st, 1941. He was arrested again by the PIDE “for investigations”, collecting to the Caxias jail on April 28, 1952. He was released on August 22 of that same year.
The story of Amável Vitorino is the story of many other men and women, which we evoke in the Museum of Aljube Resistance and Freedom,
