“Be careful, my love” – letters from the prison by Virgínia Moura and António Lobão Vital.

A book by Manuela Espírito Santo, published by the Association of Journalists and Men of Letters of Porto, about two antifascists, communists, life partners and the struggle for freedom.

Virgínia Moura, imprisoned sixteen times by PIDE, between 1949 and 1962, was in Caxias, in prisons in Porto and at PIDE’s headquarters; nine times prosecuted, three convictions in the Plenary Courts; and repeatedly beaten by the police in public acts.

On October 4, 1951, Lobão Vital is arrested and admitted to the Aljube infirmary, he would be arrested and tortured several times later.
