Alexandre Rodrigues Morgado
(Soure, 30.12.1886 — Lisboa, 07.01.1939)
Alexandre Rodrigues Morgado was born on December 30, 1886 in Soure and was a rural worker. He was arrested by PVDE on July 22, 1936 “for criticizing the events in Spain”, being released the following day.
Arrested again on June 29, 1938 “for investigations”, he was in a incommunicado regime in the police station and, the in the following day, he was transferred to the Aljube Prison, immediately going down to the respective infirmary. On December 7, 1938, he was taken to the S. José hospital. Victim of police violence, he died in that hospital on January 7, 1939, at the age of 53.
