«Duas peças em Estado Novo»
«Duas peças em Estado Novo» includes A Reputation, by British playwright Susannah Finzi, followed by Partida ou a Mulher sem Medo, by Armando Nascimento Rosa. These two works explore and deconstruct, through different voices, the various mechanisms at work in a society governed by dictatorship but in which the desire for democracy is germinating. This event also includes a thematic exhibition that confronts the way we question and relate to different levels of reading historical memories.

A Reputation
Salazar summons his priest confessor to his house for a meal, in order to demand that he solve a problem that is troubling him, caused by a very peculiar painting that he once received as a gift from another notorious European dictator. The highly ironic situation, which also includes the intervention of the servant Teresa, provides a scenic portrait of the mental atmosphere of the time, with the oppressor in the domestic stronghold.
Departure or the Woman Without Fear
In the theatre, Arajaryr Campos and his daughter Rosângela, now an adult, meet again. Arajaryr was murdered by the PIDE in Extremadura, Spain, in 19 December.
