Adolfo Ayala – International campaign for an investigation into the murder of Humberto Delgado, April 1970
Five years after the murder of Humberto Delgado, an international campaign for an investigation into the murder of the general is underway.
In April 1970, a session was held in London in which the exiled and resistant politician Adolfo Ayala, Delgado’s faithful companion, participated. It is his notes that we can read, denouncing illiteracy and poverty, the lack of freedom and censorship, repression and torture, PIDE and political judgments, colonial war and colonialism.
And he ends by stating: “despite the terror to which Portugal is subjected, there are some men of character who rebel, who fight, who organize resistance”.
